Why is text all over the place with IE?« Back to Questions List

This is a very common issue.

This is an edge case where IE renders CORRECTLY, and other browsers render INCORRECTLY.

No extra white space!

IE actually renders your content as-is, meaning if you have whitespace (TAB, LINE BREAKS, etc) before your text content - IE will correctly render the whitespace (depending on the HTML element).

Solution

Ensure you are not including extra SPACE or TABS between characters - or they may render with IE.
