Caution when using ${obj} Tag with AI objects

We have had user reports of Photoshop crashing when using ${obj} tag with some layers. The problem is that Photoshop will use the same icon for both a Smart Object and an Illustrator Object – so its hard to tell the difference from your PS layers.

When you use ${obj} tag, it will open the Object inside the tag during the export – this feature is designed for actual Smart Objects in Photoshop. If you use this with an Illustrator Object, then naturally Illustrator will open with the element.

The crash happens when Photoshop tries to copy the AI element – but Adobe does not allow your PSD to communicate with AI unless using Bridge = Photoshop crash!

Simple solution is to remove the ${obj} tag from the layer. Future Storm versions will have support for this.

Session Hopping

Hi, Tech was able to review your logs. You were able to login successfully several times. Did you mean the plugin quit unexpectedly?

Tech found that you had a few Session Hops (trying to start multiple sessions at once), which would explain your issue. Session Hops will kick out your previous session and give you a Stormy Weather message.

Although the server will not suspend for this, if you do it frequently it will lock you out for a few minutes.

If you think your error is for another reason, please let us know and Tech will further investigate.

Hi,

This is the first report we have ever had of this. Support will contact you by email as Tech will have to investigate this. You may be asked to provide additional information such as your PS version number, OS and version, etc.
