If I have a folder that contains several assets like text, smart objects, vectors etc...and I want to export that folder as a PNG. Is there a tab for that? I tried naming the folder like this but I still get all the layers inside the folder ${image} products Thanks Patrick |

Hi, Thanks for the feed back! We will pass it to management. We spoke with Tech regarding ${img} tag for folders. This was removed some versions ago when we first launched support for Illustrator. Because AI and INDD do not use Folder layers in the way PSD does, Dev removed this as it was a ”PSD only” feature (at-the-time). You can make a feature request and it goes directly to Dev: //exportkit.com/contact. |
no rush…Smart Objects work for now. Keeps the folder structure intact. |
Hi, Thanks for the update, Tech may have removed ${img} tag from folders for a reason – we will have an answer soon. |
Using ${img} or ${image} on a folder doesn’t currently work. Thanks! |

Hi, We will ask Dev if there was an update to img tag. Using ${img} or ${image} on a folder should work as you expected – but we will confirm this. QUICK SOLUTIONYou can convert the folder to a Smart Object and this will give 2 benefits (1) it will render by default as an image, and (2) you can use ${obj} tag with smart objects to re-export the elements at run-time if required. |
