This PSD file will demo the Font Style bug in Photoshop. This bug will cause font style information to become incorrect in the output – null. This PSD file will show both the font style error and the quick fix.
NOTE: This bug does not happen all the time.
The CEP Parameter Error
The Font Style Bug originates from a Legacy error with the Adobe CEP core, where sometimes elements are not correctly refreshed and mapped via scripting. This effects both Photoshop and Illustrator.
IMPORTANT: In Illustrator this error is Fatal and you must close and reopen the application - in Photoshop Export Kit can recover from this error.
Testing the PSD
Use Layers views to see the code translation of each layer, or use Exports view to see the output of the document. This bug does not always happen, so you may not encounter it – if you do the quick fix is to (a) reselect your Font Styles, or (b) redraw the text layer.
Redraw The Text Layer (Quick Fix)
1. Double click your current text layer
2. Select and copy the text inside your layer
3. Select the type tool
4. Draw a new text layer with the same size and position
5. Paste text contents inside the new text layer
6. Rename the new text layer to match the previous
7. Remove the previous text layer
Using Layers View
Select any shape element in the PSD, then select your desired view to see the code render of your shape.
